Description: MarkLogic Server is an Enterprise NoSQL Database. It fuses together database internals, search-style indexing, and application server behaviors into a unified system; uses XML documents as its data model; and stores the documents within a transactional repository. It indexes the words and values from each of the loaded documents, as well as the document structure. Because of its unique Universal Index, MarkLogic doesn't require advance knowledge of the document structure (its "schema") nor complete adherence to a particular schema. Through its application server capabilities, it's programmable and extensible.
MarkLogic clusters on commodity hardware using a shared-nothing architecture and scales to hundreds of terabytes of source data while maintaining sub-second query response time.
Key enterprise-grade features of the database include ACID transactions, horizontal scaling, real-time indexing, high availability, disaster recovery, government-grade security, and system administration tools.
The search component offers comprehensive full-text query, document-level relevance boosting, highlighted matches, global language support, range queries, permission-level search, location awareness, lexicons, custom dictionaries and thesaurus, geographic boundaries to filter data, and real-time alerting.
Application development tools include the Application Builder, an interactive wizard that enables developers to build a search application without writing a single line of code. MarkLogic also provides specialized data loading tools for processing large amounts of data.
Developers can program in their language of choice as JAVA, REST and XQuery APIs are all included.
Other key features of the MarkLogic platform include:
• JSON Support
• In-database MapReduce & User Defined Functions
• In-Database Analytic Functions
• FIPS 140-2 Cryptographic Compliance
• Path Range Indexes
